I'm 8 days old!

Baby has had a great day today and Mommy got a total of 5.5 hrs of sleep last night, so she's had a better day, too. Mommy still needs to learn how to take naps, but that's a talent she's never had so she's a slow learner. Daddy has moved back to the "master suite" instead of sleeping on the floor - so he's getting fairly good sleep! The odor/moisture problem is still in the "getting fixed" stage, so Mommy is staying upstairs with baby, still. Nana has extended her stay until Saturday which makes Mommy very happy.

Patience please!

Hat that Aunt Michele made for me

Well ... our lives now revolve around baby rather than the computer, as well it should be! I'm doing a Shutterfly album but it's hard to have time to work on it and also baby Toriana doesn't really like outfit changes or photo shoots (plus there's the no flash within 3 ft rule so I've tried to work with natural light mostly). We're sorry for all of you local folks who are dying to meet baby but we're keeping a low profile for a bit longer due to the fact that sickness is reigning this time of year and baby's doctor has encouraged us to avoid crowds for now ... hopefully you can be satisfied with some pics. I'm feeling better but still have a ways to go before I feel "recovered", too. We had to move out of our bedroom 4 days ago b/c there appears to be a water leak problem and so we're in makeshift quarters upstairs and everything's upside down, to complicate life a little more. Trevan hopes to be getting close to solving the mystery and fixing the problem - it'll be nice to settle into our own space again.
We definitely think baby is as cute as a button and we adore her completely even if she IS keeping us up all night! I'll post the link whenever I get the Shutterfly album up.

Sweet Baby Toriana ...

Brand new baby - less than 1 hr. old A couple hours old now, Mom ventures out of bed

Home, with zoned out mama!
THANKS Dayla for my favorite hat, I was the envy of all the other babies at Swedish Ballard!!

So, there's lots to say and report but mostly we'll just say THANKS for all of the blog posts - haven't gotten time to read them yet but look forward to doing so! The main reason you're checking in again is probably for pictures so here are a few. =)

new baby

typing sideways in bed on T's laptop before konking out ... after 18 hrs of labor, Toriana Grace arrived at 12:27pm today. 7# 6 oz. 19.5" long and 3 near misses shy of a C section. We're exhausted but glad she's here healthy - she seems no worse for the wear - she was a trooper through the long labor! Will post more from home soon! (FYI, it's prounounced "Toreeahna")

D-Day ... of the Due Date

Status: 1 increasingly disappointed woman, 1 patiently enduring man, and 0 baby.
I need a major diversion but it's cold, windy, and rainy so nothing brilliant is coming to me besides cleaning the house and that doesn't sound very fun at all. My folks arrive from VA tonight so maybe she'll decide to come in time to greet her grandparents ... Or maybe not! Hope everyone's having a good Jan 10th.

A little update for curious folks

I know that there are people out there who don't want to pester us with calls and emails but who are curious about what's up by now ... so this post is for you! I went to the midwife this morning and everything looks good with baby and my health and the midwife and I agreed that it was time to check things out ... so I'm 3 cm dilated, 75% effaced, and baby's head is low and well positioned. Which basically means nothing (in terms of predictions) but is encouraging, nevertheless - it means that indeed I won't be pregnant forever - whew! =) For now, I'm off to do a lap around Green Lake. I know I'm very fortunate to feel up to doing 3 mile walks, still! Thanks for all of the happy thoughts that have been directed our way lately!
